Grüezi - Life is beautiful!
This is what you always should remember when you’re going to visit Zurich, Switzerland. I will tell you why: Firstly, some background information: You will learn that in Zurich there are no available apartments. In July there were exactly two free apartments - a rate of 0.1%. So why is there such a disproportionality? Who is responsible for this unacceptable situation? Mainly, it’s the German… Yes, it’s true! Every day you got 10 Germans emigrating to Zurich. Okay, I am one of them. During the internet bubble the Swiss just forgot to build apartments as they had to look for their money. Now, 8 years later there you go, you got the result: an “apartment state of emergency”! I was in the comfortable position to get to know this reality. Me and my girlfriend we spent 4 days in Zurich for “hunting apartments”, we watched over 20, we applied (yes, you have to apply for an apartment!!!) for over 10. The result: 0. Yes, 0 assignments!!! Well, now back to my mantra “Grüezi - Life is beautiful!”… I don’t give a fuck about a crappy state of emergeny. Old job is quit - new job is waiting for me. Old apartment is quit - new apartment is not waiting for me… ‘Till now! Our plan is to rent a furnished apartment for a couple of months. Intention is to have more time for hunting apartments. So the heck with it!!! Somehow we will survive - maybe under a bridge… But remember: Grüezi - Life is beautiful!
